James Caan as Big Ed Deline in Las Vegas.

Twice during the run of the show people made comments about The Godfather, and he said he had never seen it. One episode he was going to Iran on a Canadian passport made out to Alan Trehearne.

Boone a great villain also in The Tall T, one of the Budd Boetticher movies with Randolph Scott.

Yes!

I have that Boetticher DVD collection,  probably never get my money out of it, but I love riding my exercise bike while watching those great Randolph Scott movies!!

And like Hombre, The Tall T was an Elmore Leonard story (published as The Captive).....

Good stories never get old!

...Mr. Leonard's "Fire In The Hole" gave us "Justified"!

I think that Leonard's stories were made into more movies and TV shows than anyone else's, except maybe Shakespeare"s. Around 25.

Probably because he wrote both great Westerns and crime stories.

A few:

The Tall T; Joe Kidd, 3:10 to Yuma (two movies), Hombre, Valdez is Coming, Last Stand at Saber River, Mr. Majestic, Get Shorty, Be Cool, Jackie Brown [Rum Punch], 52 Pick Up, and several others, including Justified, as JBar said.

Amazingly productive man.

Angela Lansbury in The Manchurian Candidate

Andy Griffith in A Face in the Crowd

Lansbury was so convincing that I had a hard time turning my head around.  She was always such a nice lady.

Javier Barden in No Country For Old Men. The psychopathic killer. My wife doesn't watch many movies but she said he was the scariest person she'd ever seen.

Coincidentally I just read an article about movies with bad killers in them. A group of psychiatrists or psychologists watched 400 movies and identified 125 killers as psychopaths. They concluded that Bardens portrayal was the most accurate of a true psychopath.  For what it's worth.

Murder in Coweta County, a made for tv movie.

Andy Griffith as a killer who pistol whips a man to death and Johnny Cash as the sheriff trying to catch him.

I was somewhat shocked that Andy Griffith was a cold blooded killer.

And Fred MacMurray played a lot of villains before My Three Sons  and  various Disney movies.

Similar to Lesley Nielson, a movie heavy before the comedies...

He also played in Caine Mutiny alongside Humphrey Bogart.
