Slow Mo Dern
Brookfield CAS in Masury, Ohio! Saturday August 10, 2024! Howdy folks, Saturday is “cowboy shootin’ day” at the Brookfield Conservation Club! Come join the Shenango River Rats for another fun day of jollification and merriment under the trees! It’s time again for another fun day of cowboy shootin’! Gates and doors will open at 9:00 am. The match starts at 10:00 am following the Pledge of Allegiance and a brief safety meeting. Coffee and donuts in the morning! Cold water will be provided by the club in chug-sized water bottles. Help yourself and stay hydrated! Bring plenty of shotgun shells! There are plenty of shotgun targets! No word about lunch yet but I’ll keep you posted. That’s the Saturday Cowboy Action Shooting match at the Brookfield Conservation Club on Saturday August 10, 2024. We hope to see you there! All the best, Slow Mo Dern and the Shenango River Rats Visitors and spectators are always welcome. Bring adequate hearing protection (plugs of muffs) and bring adequate safety glasses or shooting glasses. This is mandatory for adults, young’uns, and baby young’uns. My wife Barb and I were having Stromboli at Jimmy Neno’s in Brookfield today just before the storm hit and we rode to home in some of the fiercest wind and rain I’ve seen in a long time. I will find out Wednesday if the cowboy range is still standing and let you know the status. Mo. Edited August 6 by Slow Mo Dern
Slow Mo Dern
Howdy! The cowboy range doesn't look too bad. Many sticks to rake up and haul away. Many folks in the area have no power. Many trees came down in the neighborhood but all the roads to the range should be cleared by Saturday. If you're coming to the range within the next 2 days, use Custer Orangeville Road. That's the road to the club south of Yankee Lake off of State Route 7 where the white club sign is. Mo
Slow Mo Dern
Good news! All the roads are open to Brookfield. We never lost power and the ice for Saturday didn't melt. Special important notice! All the beech nuts, hickory nuts, and acorns are starting to fall naturally or because of the storm. Don't park under these trees with your vehicle. Ohio tree identification: Beech trees have writing on them. Sugar maple trees have tap holes in them. You can tell a dogwood tree by its bark.
