Sammy1897
Hey guys, I noticed that when fully tightened, the my barrel band clamp is not as solid as I would think it should be. I would describe it as lightly tight, and I can easily wiggle it about 15 degrees on the barrel. Is this 'looseness' normal?
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
was it mine , I would put a couple of shims between the band and barrel .010 should do the trick CB
Colorado Coffinmaker
Pretty common actually.
Cinch
It should not wiggle much. Start by making sure the band around the barrel is rounded to the barrel. Barrels are different diameters. Make sure the unthreaded portion of the screw(s) are located in the notch (ugly spot) under the barrel. If they are in the correct spot you can switch screws from one side to the other and see if that helps. If not then you can carefully remove a little material from the tips and try them again. You can carefully shorten the collar they screw into if all else checks out making sure the tips do not interfere. Good luck
