Lyman primer tool

Recommended Posts

Anyone got this. I just got this yesterday, haven’t used it yet. It looks like it’s built very well.

That's NOT the one I have. If you click on the link I provided you'll see what I have.

And if you had clicked on the link that Cypress posted you would see that that is the one you're talking about.

I have no idea why that picture of an RCBS primer tool showed up.

I had one and liked how easy it was to sit in front of the TV installing primers. What I didn’t like is how subjective it was to primer depth. It is all dependent on grip force. I had some that didn’t seat all the way, but still looked good, but FTF. After that I tried to make sure they were all fully seated only to start slightly indenting the primer. If you use all Federal primers this may not be an issue.

Yea this thing is a pain! I’m calling Lyman tomorrow. The instructions suck big time. I can’t seem to get the shell holder in properly and people have been saying you need Lyman shell holders! Grrrrr……🙃

I bought this one about a year ago and it’s been great , you can adjust your primers seating depth and it’s well built for what it is , comes in a case so you don’t lose all the jiblets

Okay figured it out. It’s fine. It’s a little tricky to get the shell holder in but it’s built well. Works great!

Go tired of squeezing till hand wouldn't work.  Bought a Lee Bench Primer.  Arms get tired (just primed 500 38's) but hands ok.  :D

I have several of the Lee old style of hand priming tool .

It's really my favorite.

I also have a Lee just like the one you have here .

It's OK.

I think my next hand primer tool will ve the Frankford Arsenal tool.

It's really nice.

I have that model, it’s worked great so far and I like that the seating depth is adjustable
