Texas Jack Black
21 hours ago, T.K. said: If all he was doing was "pointing the gun to get the proper camera angle" as he stated ealier in the case, why did he cock the gun? 1) ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED 2) NEVER POINT YOUR GUN AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY 3) NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE A CONSCIENCE DECISION TO FIRE. The FBI tried and was unable to get the actual gun to fire WITHOUT pulling the trigger. Their forensic analasys indicated there were no internal modifications or damaged peices. ALEC LIED. HE HAD TO PULL THE TrIGGER! If those rules were followed there would never be a film with firearms. This is movie making. No idea which movie, but a bunch of cowboys move to cover behind a hill (dirt pile). As they run up, one lets a round loose into the dirt. Oops. It clearly was not a blank. Back when I was reading "Guns of the Old West" magazine, the guy that knew all the OLD Cowboy stars was telling a story about Harry Carey Sr. and a guy he worked with a lot, Pardner Jones. He was telling about, among other things, Pardner Jones job in movies back then was to shoot at the rocks near the other actors to create ricochets. 1 hour ago, John Kloehr said: This death was a big oops. Those who make Hollywood policy need to go to NRA basics classes. You need to remember that most Hollywierd "stars" think that they ALREADY know everything that they need to because they are "better" than the rest of us. And because of the aforementioned "rules" that they follow, the actor HAS no responsibility for the guns condition and are actually forbidden to check. People like us know gun safety rules. These people think that they don't apply to them because once again, they're better than us.
Smokin Gator SASS #29736
At the beginning of this mess old interviews with Baldwin had him saying that when he is involved in a movie one of sets of skills he brings to the table is his experience and expertise with firearms/ firearms handling. Along with many other skills. Producer and actor both.

Cypress Sun
The owner or Pietta Firearms, Alessandro Pietta is testifying right now in the trial on Court TV. I don't watch that stuff, but my gal does. His testimony is actually quite interesting and (IMO) damning to Baldwin.

I am not defending Baldwin, but as my grandpa the judge used to say, truth comes with a point of view. We all know he had to have pulled the trigger. A single action simply won’t fire any other way without being broken, damaged, or modified to do so. The FBI has verified all three of those did not happen. He probably believes that he didn’t pull the trigger. Thus not lying, he doesn’t know that his memory of the event is not what actually happened and the actual events should come out during the trial. Ie he made the gun fire by pulling the trigger and pulling back the hammer, with a loaded round and pointed at a person, killing them.

Trailrider #896
Prosecution withheld evidence consisting of a box of bullets. Judge dismissed the case "with prejudice", meaning it cannot be retried. Now my question is what does that do to the case against Thell Reid's daughter? If I were her attorneys I'd be moving to clear her for the same reason. OTOH, I wonder if the family of the victim can still sue Baldwin for negligent homicide or whatever?

The aggravation comes from the fact that a leftist, gun hating, Hollywierd type is getting away with what amounts to murder. Any of us would have been shot, hanged, castrated and boiled in oil if we had done the same. He's going to just go about his happy little life doing whatever he wants while an Innocent is dead for something that so easily have been avoided if he'd have followed the rules that those of us that respect our guns do everyday. If it was indeed a technicality that let him off, whoever is responsible for that should be stripped of whatever legal standing they have. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen either.

As I said, I don't like the decision, and for exactly the reasons you mentioned. But I would rather have him walk than have a judge say that the State and its agents don't have to play by the rules.
