Nine Days, $200,000 and What Do You Get?

I never knew my ex-wife made it on to a movie poster.
I do remember seeing that movie, though.
Seriously cheesy.

And a paltry $34 in Blu-Ray on Amazon.
This is even more than the $20 I paid for "Forbidden World" (aka "the barfing monster") that I got for my bride.
She hated that movie above all others, due to the screaming naked twit running from the monster.

The naked starlet was 18 (1982) at the time the move was made... it is hard to be 18 year old, naked and ugly...
One would really have to work at that.

Tonight on Svegooli.

DAMN!  I missed it!  :(

Without a doubt one of my all-time favorites.  My uncle and aunt to me to the drive-in to see it when I was eight ~ scared the beejabbers outta me.  Technicolor nightmares!

Pretty low-budget, but still one of the more memorable Si-Fi films of the era.  Not up to Forbidden Planet status, but still a good 'un.  Woulda liked to have heard Sven's "song tribute."  ^_^

I remember seeing Forbidden Planet at the drive in... spooked me too from my back seat perch.
Parents got me a Robbie the Robot toy... I understand they are worth $150k on the collector's market today... even more with the original box.

I have Forbidden Planet in Blu-Ray, and even today it is an excellent print with great effects.

"Angry Red Planet" is, in some ways, almost the exact opposite of "Forbidden Planet." It's hokey, formulaic, and with crude, barely existent, special effects.  But, it works.
