I Believe in Equality Between the Sexes

That's why I'd like to punch the bi woman, who knocked me down in the grocery store and kept on going, right in the nose!

Needed onions to complete a Sweet & Sour Stew, so rushed off to the grocery store, limped in with my cane and my cloth bag , got a bag of Vedalias and some cooking onions and was on my way out when it happened.

Knocked me off my feet, into the cashiers table with it's moving belt, hit my head and twisted my arthritic knees. Nearly passed out from that pain.

Cashiers yelled at her, but she kept on going.

Neighbour, was there, took me to the clinic, while his wife drove my car home.

No concussion, just really painful twist to the knees.

Codeine, cold packs and the TENS machine are the order of the day.

CAS match at Kingston is off for me.

Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold.

Can you file an assault complaint with the police?  The store may have video that would identify her.

Or maybe I have seen too many cop shows!

Get well, Pard!

Prayers and thoughts up from Eyesa & Ellie, heal quick Pard.

Then tie her shoe laces together next time you see her!

Definitely notify the police. They need to get the video before the system overwrites the video.

I hope and pray you’ll be back on your feet soon.

Maybe you should consider getting a lawyer as well. Someone that would do this probably needs the self centered winds knocked out of their sails. Sue the crap out of them.
I’m not big on suing people but in this instance I say “Heck Yeah!”

Hope you heal up quickly and I sure hope that she didn't do it on purpose. If she did, that would be felonious assault on a person over 65 around here.

Better this morning, but still more painful than usual.

Still on pain killers, which I hate having to take.

I'll call the grocery store about their video.

I have walkers, left from Sherron's health issues as well as a chairlift for the stairs, so I'll go downstairs later.

Neighbour came in twice yesterday to check on me and Big Red got supper ready.

Twenty-four short steps to the bathroom and the Grab bars and arms on the toilet are handy.  (Installed originally for my wife, Sherron)

Thanks for the call Linn. It was good talking to you!

Going to miss the match Cant 'It Nuthin is putting on in Kingston tomorrow, so that is ....disappointing!

Thanks for all your good wishes and concern.

As I read the law, this was a "battery" and not an "assault" because physical contact was present.

Went back to sleep after the last post and woke up to two women's voices.

Mina and her daughter, home from University of Montreal, talking away,

Here to make sure I was OK.

Started the laundry and said they'd be back later.

Knees feel better after the ice.

Coffee and some cereal. The girls won't cook or touch the bacon I had.

I'll have a shave and a shower. Built in seat in the shower. Part of Sherron's requirements when we built the place.

Interesting day.

Mina's daughter came over and watched me while I went outside to the deck at the back of the house, after the sun moved to the front.

Then brought me a 0.5 beer and had regular one herself.

I thought that was odd. She's part of a Muslim family.  Gotta be story there.

Doctor T called to tell me she made another appointment for X-Rays next week and to change the pain pills. New ones aren't as strong.

Actually walking a bit with the cane or one of the walkers.

Nice supper of Butter Chicken over rice and another 0.5 beer.

Get well soon. The belligerence and lack of manners and respect anymore is getting out of hand. That old hide that did that to you needs her A$$ kicked.

My first and second grade teacher in grade school walked with a cane. She became very adept over the years and could somehow get the walking end of the cane in her hand and reach out with the hook end and snag a kid almost instantly. A handy skill when when a**holes are near by. I wonder what today’s mommies and daddies would think of her tactics. Heal fast

In High school the French teacher waited in the hall between classes with a bull whip!! It wasn't good to run in the hall when he was about. Our parents had no issue with the welts caused thereby. We were expected to get disciplined in school. Not the entitled little brats of today that have zero respect for anything, including themselves.

A lot better today. Getting around OK

Red Storm stopped in after the match in Kingston, c/w a wet butt from the rain so we had supper together and a chin wag.

Using the walkers to take the weight off the knees for now.

My senior year HS homeroom teacher was a great big, white haired, Falstafian character who walked with a cane. One of the more thuggish "Postgraduate" seniors got crosswise  with him and drew back an arm for a punch.  Uncle George faked to the head then came up with the cane underhanded and hit him square.  He folded up on the floor.  Hadn't thought of that in years!  Good times!

Knees are still a bit dodgy, but improving and I'm a lot less bitter about what happened, even though I have to pass up a match at Cornwall.

The manager of the store called, to tell me the woman who knocked me down had returned to the store.

She had left her credit card in the machine and most of her groceries unpaid, at the self cash out station.

It seems she received a call that her six year old daughter had been struck by a car and taken to CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) and she was a bit frantic about the state of the injuries.

She and her husband visited here a while ago and she apologized.

The child is still in hospital but is no longer critical.

In the circumstances, I understand her fleeing and forgave her.

It took courage and strength of character for her to make the gesture, but I understand her reaction.

late here but hope you heal quickly and get back to CAS as you wish ,

if you discover who it was and where they are ill join the vigil ante visit - they sound like they have it comin and a bit of fire where they live might adjust their attitude

I met her and her husband. She felt terrible about what happened, but I understand her concern for her daughter.

I don't hold any more hostility towards her, knowing the circumstances for her actions.

I'll bounce back and get to the matches ASAP.

At least I'm saving ammo at the moment!!

Prayers still up for continued healing Cold Lake. Glad to hear there was at least a viable excuse for her behavior and that she visited to apologize. Sucks that it had to be you though.

I was pretty ....annoyed until I learned the circumstances.

I'm still a bit, but I can understand the fear and uncertainty she must have been feeling.

She was flustered enough that she left a lot of her groceries and her credit card stuck in the machine at the self check-out.

I'm still hurting, but I'll let it go.
