Silver Creek Jack
Almost threw these dirty, powder burned, faded, ugly, tarnished hulls away until I read Chas B Wolfsons post about wet tumbling them. So I dug these out of the bad case bin threw them in my wet tumbler with a squirt of dawn dish soap and a tablespoon of Hornady one shot Sonic clean solution and ran them with the SS Pins for 2 hours. They turned out great! These shells have been reloaded at least 4 maybe 5 times each, a few with APP and you can’t tell the difference. Very happy with the results! 3

Chas B. Wolfson, SASS #11104
Glad to hear what has worked for me worked well for someone else. I use Strat-o-Sheen per Yul Loose and was a little apprehensive about the pins effect on the hull material. My own experience has shown the car wash/wax gives a better overall finish than Dawn and cleans the cases just as well. Chas B 3

I do the same with the StratoSheen with Turtle Wax Wash/Wax concentrate. Leaves a thin wax coating on the hulls which seems to help with shucking. 3

Chas B I will try the strat o sheen and the car wash/wax next time, the pins had no effect on the hull other than polishing the burned powder off the plastic and shining the brass to almost a new appearance, I did deprime all the hulls before washing and the pins all slide right out.
Three Foot Johnson
A few years ago, I was in the local Harbor Freight and they had a little 3 1/2 cu ft cement mixer/mortar mixer on sale for about half price. I bought one to try out as a hull washer - it works great! I can't imagine one of these cheapo light duty mixers ever working for mixing cement.
