Dillon factory service

Recommended Posts

On June 6 my Dillon 550 primer system went down and I could not fix it.  On the same day, I shipped it to Dillon. Today, June 14, it arrived at my door !  I consider that AMAZING service ! I have always heard about their legendary service but in 23 years have not had to use it until now. A BIG thank you to Dillon for your excellent service !!!

Haven't needed anything major on my SDB in 30 years, but the little parts have always been sent right out. I'd never buy anything but a Dillon just for the service and friendliness. This winter though, I'm going to pay them to do a rebuild on mine just cuz. I've done it myself once, just because it seemed prudent even though it had never really acted up in all these years.

I have been using their 550 and SDB for decades.  Very minor problems on a rare occasion and as far as I am concerned they wrote the book on customer service.  I did ask them to start making pick ups......

I abused a 650 for 25 years.  It finally had enough and quit.  I called DILLON and was told to send it in.  What I got back was the equivalent of a BRAND NEW MACHINE.  Absolutely fabulous customer service that's second to NOBODY.  PERIOD.

Surely you jest?  He's a relative newbie.  And numbers are not linear.  Back in the day, SASS sent representatives in areas groups of numbers, not necessarily in sequence and those were sometimes issued quicker than others.  Then again, ISTR that annual member numbers started at 500, and for a time you could upgrade to life and get a # in the 300s.

I can see it now...color options - Dillon Blue.

If the trucks would come with the Dillon guarantee, Dillon Blue or not, I'd buy one.

I drank the Blue Koolaid in 2018 and now have two 550s. I just completed an article for American Handgunner on doing a few improvements.

Check out Unique Tek's micrometer powder measure adjuster. It is really nice if you load different calibers or use different powders. For some reason, I need to make small adjustments, but having a real close initial setting is wonderful.

I bought a Super 1050 maybe 5 or 6 years ago & was having trouble setting it up initially. It was likely dumbness on my part. I called Dillon 3 times for help, & when I called the 3rd time, they said, "You're having too much trouble with that new machine, so we're gonna send you another one. In 2 or 3 days, the new one showed up. They had the other one picked up. Replacement was perfect, as I had probably made all possible mistakes by then & learned from them.

I also have a 650 & a 550 & have had other spectacular experiences with factory support, like the time I lit up a primer column of almost 100 primers.

Great company to deal with, as most of you know.

I joined SASS in 1988 or 89. I first joined as an annual member, #16XX or thereabouts, then a few months later  SASS offered a lifetime membership at a discounted price, and would apply your current membership payment towards the total. So when I went life, I got a new number, #303. This was when EOT was held at Coto de Casa, California. Several of my pards upgraded at the same time.
