Cowboy Recycling

10 minutes at the range to collect 15 pounds of bullets on the ground...

One hour to cast 200 bullets, like the 90 grain SWC tumble lube .32s from a Lee mold...

I have learned to cast bullets for .32 H&R Mag, .38 Special, .38/40, .44 Spec/Mag, .45 (ACP, CS and Colt), and .454 round ball for CnB pistolas.

good job.  I've done some berm mining myself.  At my age and pay grade, I'm happy to swap sweat equity for cash.

I usually melt my recovery lead into ingots first to clean out all the trash.  Then into the casting pot.

nice fact is I like casting, powder coating and sizing along with reloading just about as much as shooting

Ya know.  Cowboys are kinda hard to recycle.  Getting 'em to stand for being stuffed inna bucket is tough.  Most of them shoot well enough I really don't wanna try it.  Nope.  No way:rolleyes:

I’ve been recycling some old plastic 10ga shotgun shells.  Does that count??

They were originally 2 7/8” Federal hulls that were roll crimped. Most were loaded with Black Powder and have been reloaded once or twice.

I trimmed off the worst of the bad plastic and they wound up 2 5/8” long with a new roll crimp.

I ended up saving nearly a hundred of ‘em!

My recycling center won’t take them. They’re more trouble than they’re worth.

My wife tried to recycle me a couple times, but no one would take me!
