Doc Moses
Big thanks to Plum Creek for State this weekend. I had a GREAT posse led by Patnode and with a nice extended family from La Grange. It was hot but we survived. One shot away from a clean match...totally my fault but irritating. (Who can I blame? Posse marshal? I can't be responsible, can I?) Due to family commitments we had to leave before the awards banquet but really nice people and a good match. Thanks for all the work and all the ice waters!

Abilene, SASS # 27489
I think scores will eventually be posted to https://plumcreekss.org/category/scores/ I'm guessing they will be on facebook first, which I'm not on, so maybe somebody will post the file here like they did with the "who's coming" list. The top 25 were announced at the end and I don't remember too much but Rusty Remington won and Panhandle Cowgirl I belileve was top Lady. I was NOT in the top 25 , probably somewhere in the middle. My last stage was 52 seconds since I had a clean match going but needed to borrow Skinny's screwknife to fix a double feed (first time I ever had one on that rifle!) - There were 80 clean shooters out of over 200. That should tell you something! I know of at least two people who had their first miss on the last shot of the match. I won my category because the faster guy dropped a gun. Hate to win like that, but I'll take it! Stuffe happens! I know a number of people weren't able to come to the banquet due to other commitments but there was still a lot of people there and it was fun and I really liked the boneless fried chicken and cream gravy. My shooter prize was one of those reproduction tin signs for Marlin. So now I guess I need to buy a Marlin . So I'm looking for a 32-20 Marlin (like Skinny was shooting!). There was a vendor there from Rockport with a 3D color printing setup. You went in their trailer and got scanned and then the printer (which is in Rockport, so not immediate), makes the statue. One of the samples they showed was 7" tall of Whiskey Strait with Texas Wildflower. The detail was incredible.

Oh well, there is always next weekend at the Pasta Bowl (Great Western Spaghetti Match). TM TM

Abilene, SASS # 27489
Patnode is always fun to shoot with, and yeah, he would have said "nobody cares" (with a smile). We were happy to see Mav's wife back to normal at the banquet. Billy, that's awesome that Sassy had her first clean match! Probably made the heat a lot more bearable. The banquet, being on Memorial Day Eve, had the "Missing Man Table" set up and announced as before. It was their sacrifices that made this game possible.
Billy Boots, # 20282 LTG-Regulator
All was great. Heat just happens. Very nice banquet as usual. Outstanding work by the club. Cold water constantly along with electrolyte packets a plenty. The Memorial is always a excellent tribute to those we hold dear. Sassy's CM was just exactly, and by 9th and 10th (8 & 9) Sunday heat was getting her but another clean one kept her going. Awesome.
Abilene, SASS # 27489
Match Directors note! Every shooters packet had one of these cooling towels in it. It would be a very nice and useful item regardless of weather, but they came in VERY handy with cold water all over the range to dunk them in. Lots were on people's heads and necks! Even if they don't do as much "cooling" in high humidity, that cold rush when it hits your neck was nice!
Hells Comin
Leaving out the heat and humidity! This was a very well run and exciting match. How could anyone miss these targets. ( I DID). The stages where great and I loved them. The side match awards banquet was excellent and the food was over the top. Although seems like everyone got a prize except me. Lol The main match wards banquet well run and only took about 2 hours. Well done. The food was great so I stuffed my self. For all of you that put this State match together I want to thank you on a job well done. Hells Comin

Two Spurs
Haven't been on the wire in years but would like to say thanks to all who made it out with extra thumbs up to so many who came from out of state. I had a small hand in helping out with things this year and yes it was tough from the heat- but great helping everyone get through it. Really gives one a greater appreciation for those who lived in these circumstances before air conditioning! Was extra great to see a nice handful of young folks shooting, including one young man who passed on his high school graduation ceremony to shoot this one!

Thanks, she is taking it easy today but I think that was a wakeup call that she isn't superwoman anymore. LOL I didn't know you didn't win that booze and decanter set until I got a call at 6:45 this morning from Greg saying he had won it and thought it was funny that I had sold him my H&R this weekend and we both ended up winning the booze and decanter set. I told him he might see it but since you had it nobody knows what happened to it. LOL TM
