A doubling double

Recommended Posts

What would cause a SKB Royal to double fire all of a sudden? The barrel selector was switched from firing the left first to fire the right and then it ran ok.

The automatic safety has been removed.

Okay then, my main match 200E started doing this at this year’s EOT. Got the same advice (to clean) , took off stock to see internals, degreased, scrubbed out anything that remotely looked dirty, relubed with Ballistol, put it all together and now the second shot only goes off about one in three? No doubling anymore but?

JM gun, about 12 years old, mechanical conversion first ever issue.
New advice anyone?

TIA

Badlands Bob has a very valid reason that could be causing the problem. The gun needs to be taken all the way down. A piece of shot gets smashed once it falls into an action and can move around freely, making the problem intermittent.

Best advice from the SKB “Jedi Master”. I have finally acquired some of his handiwork!
