You could possibly get by using the ACP on the Colt because the Colt doesn’t headspace on the case mouth. But not the other way around.

45colt usually gets a roll crimp and 45ACP, a taper crimp.

So long as the rim of the case mouth is seated flush (or nearly so) with the bullet, a taper crimp works fine for the 45 Colt.

No....I purchased two 45 ACP aftermarket conversion cylinders for my 45 Colt Uberti Cattleman Hombre pistols. Now I have the option to shoot 45 Colt, 45 Schofield, or 45 ACP ammo.
