Shoes for big feet

I have a size 15aa foot have to have a 15b shoe which isn’t easy to find.  Further I have difficulty wearing cowboy boots.  I have a pair of custom fit wellingtons with a low heel and a pair of lace up fitted packers but I still get a lot of back and knee pain after wearing them for more than a few hours.

my local clubs are pretty flexible but I’m wondering if the soles on the work boots pictured would be allowed at regional/state/national matches if I were to add a packer flap in the laces?

The rules regarding 'lug' soles are commonly misunderstood.

SHB page 8 (Classic Cowboy requirements):

Boots are required and must be of traditional design with non-grip enhancing (ie., 'no lug') soles.

SHB page 9 (B-Western requirements):

Boots are required and must be of traditional design and embellished with fancy stitching, multi-color fancy design, conchos or spots. Soles must be non-grip enhancing (ie., 'no lug' soles). Lace up boots and moccasins are not allowed.

Unless you're in one of these two categories those boots should be fine.

Thank you for clarifying this. I had surgery on my left foot this spring and cannot get into my western boots and have been wondering what is acceptable at State and Regional Championships.

Also leather shoes are just fine. I can't wear boots so I wear my Red Wing oxfords, for dress up I have a pair captoe of Florscheim. Good Luck:)

I had major surgery on both of my feet.  You can also ask the Match Director for a waiver.

I seldom hear complaints about "alternate" footwear these days.  Our cowboy population is rapidly aging and many of us have chronic issues with our feet and legs (I recently have acquired two new "bionic" knees).  A number of years ago, there was a lot of chatter from the uniform zealots about footwear, I, recently, haven't heard many complaints, locally, about inappropriate footwear.  Most of us are just happy to see cowboys return from the "injured reserve list".
