SASS Northeast Regional

The Big Iron Rangers and the Middletown Sportsmen Club are  hosting the SASS Northeast Regional on August 9-11, 2024. Lassiter is the match director and he is known to set up some fast and interesting stages. If you are worried about the hill the Boy Scouts will be available again to get your cart up the hill. The application for Guns of August is attached. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Forgot to mention that the first 6 registered juniors, 16 and under with an adult entry, shoot free thanks to Vandalia Amory.

This is one of the most under valued and FUN matches around! Tommy and I have so much fun there! The Boy Scouts are FABULOUS and really hustle getting the carts to the right stage! And, they know how to use a variety of brakes!

The Ohio cowboys and cowgirls can COOK, too! @mean gun mark is already planning the menu - ribs, brisket… OMG! It’s all so good.

I cannot recommend this match more! It’s fast and fun - but different shooting down and across a ravine.

You WILL have fun! You won’t be hungry and you’ll make a bunch of friends and reconnect with a bunch more!

Hugs!

Scarlett

This jail is a challenging stage. You can see the targets through the bars.

Why not post it online so everyone can see how well they did.  I surely like to know. Just asking.😊

I too would have thought that the scores of a Regional would have been published...

Yes, that’s correct. :(

What happened?

A regional usually draws far more than that.

Nothing, it’s the same great match it’s always been. Our membership is aging and folks just aren’t willing to travel as much.

103 shooters ?? was that right  for the whole regional ?

For me it’s logistics… from the Capital Region of NY it’s a 10 hour ride… even farther from the rest of the Northeast states.

Agree, most shooters are aging, and I am one of them.   Been there for many years before retirement and moved to Florida.  It is a great place to shoot a major match.

Lassiter always put on a great regional shoot.  Go and give it a try to shoot the Northeast Regional, you wont regret it.  Great folks too.

I passed this year's match for the first time in several years.   It is a 6 1/2-hour drive for me one way, and I always travel alone.  As I am approaching 77 yrs, my goal at the end of the match is to get home before I fall asleep at the wheel.  Coming back from Smoke in the Woods this year I met some traffic cones just 10 minutes from home and into the body shop my truck went.

I told Ms Bonnie to keep my Registration Fee for the club and I plan to return in 2025.

Now to just be able to stay awake.
