Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
After the Cole disaster, the navy sent a lot of sailors private firearms schools such as Blackwater and Sigarms.

In WWII the Navy seems to have done well with 20mm and 40mm guns.
Sedalia Dave
Photo is obviously photo shopped. Notice there are no scope rings among other obvious inconsistencies. The part that makes me sad is that it was not caught before being released via official channels. Yes this photo was released via official channels just as it shown by the OP Wonder how long it will take before Cmdr Yaste tracks down the idiot that thought it would be funny to do this. Ship COs are not known for their sense of humor. Especially at their expense.

I have never seen anything other than an ACOG that had an integral mount. That scope doesn't look like any ACOG I have ever seen. Found a picture of the scope it is a Trijicon VCOG. Still when you blow up the picture the scope appears to be attached to the receiver and it appears to also be mounted to the handguard rail as well. That is what makes me so sad that someone within the Navy thought it was a good idea to photo shop the picture and then allow it to be posted it to the Navy's social media page. I guarantee that somebodies derriere is going to end up explaining this to the old man and they are going to regret doing this.
