That is a great photo. 
 

I wish I had a photo of my ship in heavy seas. There were a number of times we were in nasty waters, especially an area we called the VACAPES (Virginia Capes - pronounced vay-capes)

Also in the Atlantic trying to get through or past tropical storms and hurricanes. 
 

EDIT: We never went through a hurricane.

For frame of reference, BB-20 was 456 ft long. DDG-118 is 513 ft long.

“In December 1913. As part of the Atlantic Fleet, she was returning from the Mediterranean and broke both propeller shafts and had to be towed into port at Norfolk, Virginia.”
