Major Art Tillery Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 I am not sure if anyone would be interested in these, but figured I would post this ad... Before I used them for other means. I have (23) 78 records 6 - Gene Autry 1 - Roy Rogers 1 - Ernest Tubb 1 - Roy Acuff 3 - Louise Massey & The Westerners 1 - Bob Willis & His Texas Playboys 1 - Bob Crosby 9 - Bing Crosby I have wiped them down and have played several and they all worked ok. FYI - (The Victrola record player from Walmart are able to play 78s) $50 for all + Shipping.... Which should work in a medium flat rate box. Feel free to make a serious offer as well.

Watch out when packing, these are not vinyl and are very brittle.

Thank you, I knew they are different then current records... But was not sure what they are made out of. Shellac Resin?
Eyesa Horg Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Maybe a blue paper shop towel between each one. They are brittle as hell. They appear to be in good condition.

Rip Snorter Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 If I recall correctly shellac and powdered slate. The older ones work better with a different needle than 33RPM, in fact I think the later needles are either harmed by and / or harmful to the older records. I haven't played a 78 in many years, but still have a different cartridge for an old turntable. If I were shipping them, particularly these days, I would go to the max with bubbles and peanuts in a larger box.
