What is your most-watched Christmas movie?

Recommended Posts

My wife and I just finished our annual enjoyment of Love Actually.

Before that movie came out (2003), It’s a Wonderful Life was our go-to each year.

Mix in the various variations of A Christmas Carol and a biannual-ish evening of White Christmas and you have our playlist.

So what movies do the Saloonatics enjoy each year?

And is wish you all a wonderful season in however you celebrate.

None of them actually! I try to avoid them even though The Christmas Story is okay but I’ve seen it a half a dozen times. They all bore me to be truthful !

I tend to favor Miracle on 34th Street..... both versions.

And... White Christmas.

And of course.... Christmas Vacation (with the Griswold family)

Of lately, I've enjoyed 'ELF'.     Makes me laugh.

..........Widder

I watch the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol religiously!

I also try to find a showing of Donovan’s Reef every year.

I’ll often catch the Maureen O’Hara version of miracle on 34th street.

I frequently watch Bachelor Mother (Ginger Rogers, David Niven), and A Holiday Affair (Janet Leigh, Robert Mitchum). Both romantic comedies, and while they're not about Christmas, they take place during the week of Christmas.

I like the half hour or hour Gunsmokes where it's Christmas, or other old westerns that have a Christmas theme.

After outgrowing “Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “The Little Drummer Boy,” well over 50 years ago, I cannot think of any “Christmas” movies I have watched more than once or twice. I have watched “Die Hard” about twice, for those who consider that a Christmas movie.

I grew into a fairly devout kid, who found movies with fictitious miracles in them to be rather uncomfortable to watch. This was not limited to “Christmas” movies.

Let’s all have a safe and wonderful Christmas, however we observe or believe.

My wife keeps watching these horrible Christmas movies on The Hallmark Channel. Same old plot over and over. She surprised me last night when after watching one for a few minutes she told me to change the channel.

A Christmas Story has such a strong influence on me that I went out and brought a gin-u-wine Red Ryder BB Gun last month.

Most watched is probably Christmas Vacation because it's on every channel at the holidays.  Favorite is White Christmas.
