From the factory which barrel fires first, the left or right & is there a difference between the double or single trigger ?

AFAIK in an all stock SXS shotgun with double triggers. The Right barrel's trigger will be the forward trigger and the Left barrel's trigger is the back one.

All SXS shotguns with single triggers usually have a selector switch to allow you to choose which barrel fires first. On those that don't the right barrel usually fires first.

Fixed,  Got my left and right mixed up

Most side by sides with dual triggers have the front trigger fire the right barrel, back trigger fires the left barrel.  Baikal, SKB, Browning, all work that way.  Suppose your Boito does too.

If both barrels are Cylinder (no choke) it makes no difference which one fires first.   And if you are doing a single shell reload instead of 2 at a time, don't do it even for a makeup shot.

good luck, GJ

Look at the triggers closely and you will see that there is a right side trigger and a left side trigger. Yup, those control which side fires, so whichever one is the forward trigger will fire that barrel first.

The reason I asked is I use an SKB for Cowboy & retired my single & double trigger Boito/Stoeger...occassionally I pull out the single trigger to use in Trap novelty events usually at Xmas...now I know it did fire the left first as that was the barrel with a screw in modified choke yet when I used it last w'end it was firing the right barrel first with the full choke''it's got me stumped !!!!

Sounds like there is a "selector" involved with your single-trigger mechanism.  Find and figure out how to control it.

But if you have choke tubes in the gun, it IS in your control - swap the tubes.

Howdy GJ.. afterwards I did swap the chokes, the gun does not have the barrel selector   & that's why it has   has me baffled....I will have to have a look inside !!!!
