Hi Doc,

Mae and I use them and have for a very long time. They are completely different than Eagle or any other grip I have seen. You should call Jim Wilson, the man who makes them and ask him to explain his design.

Thanks everyone for your replies and information!  I have several sets of Eagle Gunfighter Grips and two sets of the new Eagle Reactiv grips on order.  I was just curious about the Bearpaw grips because I like some of the fancy woods he uses.

I've had 3 sets of custom grips done by Bearpaw and I would highly recommend them!!

I can't recall the gentleman's name...he took over from the original maker who passed many years ago. Before the OM Vaqueros came out, I shot a Freedom Arms .454 with Bearpaw grips that had a hump on the back like for a DA revolver. Boy howdy did they hurt! But, when shaped for SA, no problem. And they are superb grips!
