2024 TX STATE MATCH - TEXAS TORNADO STYLE?

Texas Tornado Style - Big Targets which are close and personal. They put an emphasis on how fast you can operate your guns more than accuracy. I like it for 1-2 stages, but don't prefer it for the entire match like some do.

One range has an extreme example at one stage which is a large 4'x8' piece of steel real close to the shooter. I don't know if a single posse has managed to go clean, someone always tries to shoot too fast and misses.

And folks still miss that target. Ask me how I know.

First of all...bull!

But let me answer the question first. The Texas Tornado Style is fashioned after Bordertown. Big and Close.

Now to the BS about this style only being about how fast you can operate your guns. This belief is based on ignorance of the game. The Big and Close matches puts an emphasis on Running your guns fast AND efficiently (of course), but it also requires very refined transitions in order to win. Accuracy is always needed. To say otherwise is silly! Any match is "cleanable" if you remove the timer.

I'd like to go but the better half will probably not be able to.  Plan on discussing it with her this weekend.

And Bo knows, he is the President of the club and also Match Director for this match and it is a great match. He does a fantastic job. We always look forward to shooting at Plum Creek.

My wife is a teacher and that's the last week of school for her, so she can't go. :(

She said she doesn't mind if I make the trip, though.:D

My wife is also a teacher and did the same thing to me for your Bayou Blast. It was a good match and I had a good time.

Will do.  I'll be staying at the range as well.  Plan on getting there later Thursday evening (it's about a 10-hour drive for me).

My wife's last day at school is Friday so we will be coming down right after she gets home. RV will already be packed and ready to go. We should be there around 4ish. It is only an hour and a half drive for me towing the Montana beast.
