Some Photographers Mate is going to find out what its like to scrub bilges with a tooth brush when Cmdr Yaste tracks them down.  Commanding officers don't have a sense of humor when they are the subject matter. Especially, when the photo of them was released via official Navy channels.

Likely not shopped. Front scope cover is see through. I have a set of flip ups like that on my deer rifle so i dont miss a shot while releasing them. Pylons on the pic attachment look integrated to the scope tube.  He's just choked up on the scope.

 

I had a drill at Knox that rocked a mag on auto fire nestled in his crotch to show the A1's lack of recoil.

 

And if it was released via official channels wouldn't the old man have final say about what gets off the ship?
