Wayne spending money has nothing to do with the info that they send out. Especially NRA/ILA. I will agree about and the Second Amendment foundation and Gun Owners of America and Ohio Gun Owners. They're great!

Wayne is in charge so I can’t imagine he has nothing to do with the information that is sent out. Policy is formed from the top down .

Too many people seem to forget what the NRA has done for us over the years. The rest of these gun organizations pale in comparison regarding accomplishments.

I agree they were once a great organization, still are in many ways. But under Wayne’s leadership they are definitely not what they used to be, and proven to be corrupt. That is shown in the support they are no longer getting that has shifted to the other organizations. Dudley Brown and NAGR used to be the red headed stepchild of the gun rights movement, but now many believe they are more effective than the NRA ILA . I believe the NRA is a great organization, just as I believe the United States is a great country. Unfortunately both organizations are currently suffering from the affliction of extremely poor leadership. Neither needs to be dismantled just somehow put back on the right path.

I agree, BB.  The NRA while very helpful for many years has pretty much abandoned us recently in favor of their own version of corruption and money grabbing. They print just enough or say just enough to sound relevant but mostly the smaller Second Amendment organizations are doing a much more active job in fighting the fight that still needs fought... it's sad but true.

Several channels on YouTube that are very pro-gun and pro Second Amendment are worth watching. Nothing wrong with that.  This is after all, the new face of information sharing. Hickock45 is certainly one as is Mr. Gunsandgear and certainly Colion Noir.  Both of these guys are always up to date and give accurate information on every Second Amendment issue coming down the pike. Objective and rational and articulated quite well.

And yes, making money off social media is not only a job but a career for many. And some of the monetary earnings would make attornies jealous.

I agree with you on the YouTube channels, I honestly trust them more than allot of sources because all they really have is their reputation, so if they are out there actively lying to their viewers on a daily/weekly basis they won’t last long and many of the channels have a very long history.  Another one I like is the Military Arms Channel. He’s been very active in gun rights and exposing the corruption in the NRA . I don’t always agree with the views some channels present but generally feel they presenting the “truth” as they see it . And I think as long as they are transparent that’s really all that can be asked of them.

If you remember he paid a bunch of money back that he spent frivolously. He has plenty of information, what I meant was his spending lavishly had nothing to do with the info he and the NRA puts out.

So paying back the money is an admission of guilt. And I have a hard time believing that the corruption perpetuated by Wayne and his cronies has nothing to do with the information that they put out . The picture they want to paint is going to drive the information they push . And he has solidly demonstrated he does not have the membership’s best interests at heart. He’s a proven liar. No longer deserving of the memberships trust.

That's your choice, I still support the NRA and the NRA/ILA and I trust the info they give me about gun laws and issues. Again, the info put out has NOTHING to do with Wayne and his spending which he has curtailed. I understand you don't like him and that's your choice. They are always right on with their information and I believe your hatred of this guy is blinding you to the rest of the organization. So yes let's agree to disagree.

I'm a proud LIFE member and I still contribute to this great organization.

I’m also a life member, but won’t give them a dime until Wayne and his cronies are gone. Until that time I’ll support organizations like the the Second Amendment foundation and GOA , which I’m also a lifetime member of. So I’m on board with agreeing to disagree.

I have several gun friends who are mostly life+ NRA members who all feel exactly the same way. GoA and SAF are fine institutions that deserve our support.

The NRA has done great work, there is no denying that. These other organizations are also doing great work and pretty aggressively.

Same exact sentiments here! The very fact that LaPierre is still at the helm is a travesty to what the NRA once was.

I took these screenshots off another forum, can't vouch for accuracy, but interesting to look at.  Australia doesn't import very many semiautomatics from the USA.  I cannot find a similar chart for non-semiautomatics.

Maverick Arms in the second graph is Mossberg.

I think our people from down under are probably more concerned with a Ruger Vaquero, maybe primers . Do the Australian’s make primers for sale to the public? I’m pretty sure they make a decent amount of powder

I still support the NRA to some degree, more so, GOA. What irks me with NRA is that they use every penny I send them to beg for more money and hand out cheapy gifts. The more donated the more junk mail I get.

Hey PM how's it going mate.

'Supposedly' Australia is exempt from this ban.

Also yes ADI has let us down,  but there's been some huge shipments of primers and powders coming into Oz. You just have to act fast when they

hit the shelves.

Fiocchi primers, Federal primers heaps of lesser known brand primers. Vihtavuori , Vectan & Lovex pistols powders have all been sourced by members down here with late 2022 manufacturing dates. So its starting to come into Oz and side stepping the major players like NIOA which I hope makes them pull their collective fingers out.

Hope your right Bear, I have heard of some primers hitting our shores but not shotgun/pistol powder, didn't know that Australia was exempt re the import of guns.. Prices are insane, love my shooting but won't be gouged...not a lot of Cowboy these days as I am right into Clay shooting & as I have a lot of components that's where I really need the powder.

And that’s what’s good about social media, more choices. I like the Second Amendment foundation but find the NRA sadly lacking anymore. I like Hickok , I don’t know if I would call him educational but I do enjoy his gun reviews. Buds seems to keep him in guns to review and federal seems to keep him in ammo. Hopefully the new owners of federal will continue to

Apparently Federal has dropped him. He now uses ammo donated by a distributor of brands I’m not familiar with.

ADI makes a great number of the powders marketed by Hodgdon here in the US.
They apparently have no plans to start producing Trail Boss again.
I was fortunate to find a local seller with a sealed 5# jug at an equitable price, as the scalpers here are selling it like gold dust.

The Lovex/Shooters World powders really deserve consideration.
Same for the Vihtavouri powders, albeit they are pricey.
N32C (Tin Star) is the closest replacement for Trail Boss, but even that is nearly Unobtainium these days.

In case anyone is curious, here is the actual order(allow at least a 1/2 hour to get what the details mean):

https://www.bis.doc.gov/index.php/documents/policy-guidance/3374-2023-10-27-bis-faqs-firearms-pause-and-review/file

And this document includes the list of exemptions (for now, plus Ukraine and Israel).

https://www.bis.doc.gov/index.php/documents/regulation-docs/2255-supplement-no-1-to-part-740-country-groups-1/file

But all subject to change.

And really not sure if this is coincidental or related peripherally or a key reason for the order:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/czechoslovak-group-enters-definitive-agreement-182100031.html#:~:text=PRAGUE%2C October 16%2C 2023--(,business at approximately 5x Fiscal

But I do know my local gun shop is running out of ammo and has no expectation of an ETA for more.

And my main point after all the editing got left put. Australia is exempt from this order at this time, per the order!

All the below came in a few weeks ago (second time now) and it went so fast but thankfully they limited everyone to 8lb -

https://tigersharkballistics.com.au/collections/powder-and-primers

These are in a lot of shops -

https://tigersharkballistics.com.au/collections/primers

A lot of the Sydney shops had Vectan pistol powders in stock and it went fast. It was priced really fairly, bloody disappointing to see it being advertised by scalpers for 2x & 3x what they paid for it a few days later.

Happy to see powder and primers dribbling in to Oz though.

Fiocchi seem to have has a large shipment as they are around and I got a 4 of these the other day for $170 ($10 off sticker price) for 1500 which is better than the Federal for $230 per 1000

PLUS ONE for Sedalia Dave

Neither one of these Hot U-Tube "Content Creators" has any more knowledge than the average street peddler.  The difference is they have a microphone and a camera and have learned how to post their "Opinion" on Social Media and create a feeding frenzy of Miss-Information and "alternative facts."  If your getting your "News and Information" from social media you best run it through a fine filter before pounding your chest and hooping on the soap box.

They are both "missing something"

No, it does not apply to our allies.

Add to this the UAW contract of more pay for less work, and the CO move to strike Trump from the 2024 ballot.

What it all DOES indicate is humongous gov't overreach.

IMO, every single high school student, and every politician, would have to read "Atlas Shrugged" then pass a comprehension exit exam before being allowed to go on.

I just read an article that Oregon is no longer going to require testing for proof of proficiency in math, english or science to graduate from high school. So good luck with comprehension.

The government wants dumb people that do what they’re told without question.

Personally I have no problem with the auto workers getting a raise and better hours. I’m retired now but I know that’s what I worked towards my entire career, more pay and better working conditions. Who doesn’t want that? The auto companies have been making record profits. They agreed to it, if it’s a bad business decision they have other alternatives. I was in a union for 25 years and I’m not a big fan of them but large corporations definitely don’t always treat their workers the way they should either.

One of the freedoms enjoyed in America is the freedom to find another job.
More pay for less work is right out of "Atlas Shrugged" as it details the destruction of America by Socialism.

I have experienced the "protected species" in my career path who worked less and produced less, only to be advanced more.

That happens everywhere, not just in Unions. Everywhere I ever worked there was a pretty equal split of lazy/ incompetent people between union and salary workers. Self interest is what capitalism is all about . Everyone wants higher pay for less work, and no one wants the same pay or less “inflation” for more work. I can’t tell you how often managements great solution to a problem was we just need to work harder. It was always my experience that the people who work hard are already doing that. Typically management doesn’t want to do the work to fire someone. Although I worked with a few good ones that proved beyond a doubt that union members can be fired. You just have to build a file on them the same way you would for a salary employee that’s going to sue you for wrongful termination.
I can’t tell you how many engineers I’ve seen promoted because they were incompetent. It was easier for management to promote them, then to do their job and fire them.
And if you don’t like what the big 3 did there’s plenty of other vehicles out there for sale . How cheap is a Toyota right now? If you can even find one.
The Unions had to strike while profit is high. I personally have a feeling that the auto industry is about to tank soon for a little while. The are all changing ridiculous prices right now and with the way interest rates are going no one is going to be able to afford a car payment. Read an article the other day that repos are at a 10yr high

I have worked for 2 large companies over 31 years in my life and what you say is exactly true in each of them, mostly for supervisors and managers with the occasional worthless union member being protected, but far and away the salaried folks moved up the pay scale as reward for being incompetent.

Interesting note however, these companies do not suffer incompetent engineers. They boot them.
