I suppose it really doesn't matter. But still

Guy says that this is a Sears ad from the 1950s.

I'm thinking that the boys' hair is too long for the 1950s. Maybe the teenager, but the two younger kids - ain't no way their hair would be that long in the 50s. Not with parents as wholesome looking as those.

And then of course there's the fact that I have the entire ad - that picture is a cropped piece.

So not only is it not a Sears ad, but is a Daisy ad, but if you look at that paragraph just above the big red word Daisy, it gives the company address.

With the ZIP code.

Zip codes came out in 1963.

Its possible to use a previous picture and later, included the written address with zip.

No comment about the hair.

I grew up in the 50's (born in 51).   And some of my friends had a shaggy style hair cut while some

of us had a crew cut or flat top style.    And don't forget the 'greasers' who used Wildroot and carried

a comb in their pocket.

Yeah, I was born in 50 and we all had crewcuts usually done by mom. I do remember some guys that didn't want to conform to the rest of us and they had mohawks.
