Eli Hawk 39161
anyone replaced firing pin in new vaquero looks like you drive out slanted pin that holds it in place then with punch drive out pin and pin housing by placing punch on rear of firing pin and drive it forward i see all kinds of problems on installing the new housing spring and pin looks like you would mark the pistol frame and the firing pin housing so you would have a chance to line up the housing with the frame so you could reinstall the cross pin that holds it in place but thats a guess sp if anyone has done it tell me what you did and what kind of problems could i have

The Original Lumpy Gritz
Yes, WHY the change? If broken, send it to Ruger.
Kid Rich
You've got the right idea on what you need to do I've encountered a few that were very stiff, one that was twice as long as a normal fp spring. Proper alignment as you noted is essential for ease of reassembly . kR
KingSnake
I’ve removed about a dozen firing pins using the method Larsen wrote in the Cowboy Chronicle with no problems.
SGT. ELI 35882 GUNFIGHTER
I've taken a bunch of them out using the same method described by Larsen. I have a couple of caliber specific sizes of brass rods that I place in the barrel to drive the bushing back in place.
