Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
I just brought down my RCAF Ensign, Today was Battle of Britain Sunday here. It was commemorated in our Church and others in the Commonwealth. As an air force brat, I was privileged to meet and know some of the pilots of the battle, who were still around. Per ardua ad astra God Bless. 3
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
I had the privilege to correspond with, then meet for several hours, Air Commodore Sir Archie Winskill, a Spitfire ace and Battle of Britain pilot (who flew also in Circus and Torch). A great man; one of the Few. My own grandfather, Edward F. W. Winskill, a Canadian, was a Royal Airforce Pilot in the First World War.
