Forty Rod SASS 3935
I finally took down the drapes my wife had made for our bedroom. They had exceeded their expected life and were beyond repair. I have contacted several places that advertise drapes and curtains made, but none want to use the material I have picked out and none want to do less than remodel my entire house. One sent a young man to take measurements and he fumbled around and left, and after three weeks I have heard nothing. Probably for the best becuase I have no confidence in his abilities based on how he handled himself. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount to have these made for a sliding door and two side windows. I AM NOT WILLING to cave in to some supercilious puke and a company that wants to treat me like crap.....and I won't tolerate being talked down to. I was, for a brief period an interior designer myself, schooled and licensed and apprenticed to a well-known man in Pasadena. They can't BS me into something I know isn't right. My problem now is how to find some ethical professional (or talented seamstress) who is willing to take on this task. What would you do?

They might know someone who can, if not do it themselves.
bgavin
Good luck in your search. So many are schlubs that do crap work at high prices. I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find a princess.

I know one who does most of the graduation gowns and lot wedding dresses in the are, rents tuxedoes, and works on polive, fire department, and other uniforms, too, but she's back logged for months. Thanks for the tip.
ORNERY OAF
Seamstress, tailors, coblers......dying arts, very rare to find anyone with skills like that these...my friend runs a uniform shop and the uniforms need tailored to each person. He has the devil of a time keeping a seamstress, the one he uses now is a meth head but she does a great job when she actually shows up for work,lol...it's come to that. Rip Snorter
Worst case, DIY. Cloth, lining, heat activated adhesive and an iron. Curtain rings and a rod and you're done. Otherwise, plenty of ready made https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/sb0/curtains-drapes-c481844.html?refid=BRAVE&bravecreativeid=6260.1&pageexpansion=1 Edit: See if there is a local Quilt Club - I'm sure one of the ladies would be willing to do a simple(for them) job for very little money.
