Sadly, I rarely ride it.

At my age and with a knee replacement, it is getting harder for me to kick start it. :(

Have you considered checking with Indian about an electric starting system?

Indian of then, isn't Indian of today! I wish it were mine! I'd be parked in my living room!:):FlagAm:

I have been aware of the 12 volt starter system for a number of years and have seen one installed. For me, it kind of takes away some of the mystique of the old 6 volt system. Also, my Indian is 80 Cu In with more compression than the 74 Cu In motor so the starter will have a harder time working. The system I saw probably was Kiwi's and it did not seem to have too much power.

As for parking on a hill. my previous home was on top of a hill and I used that all the time. This house is at the bottom, :(

Putting electric on that beautiful bike would just be wrong.;) I'd rather pay someone to start it for me than to add an electric starter!

Man, that video clip left me scratching my head.
1. Where was or what happened to the rider of the runaway bike?
2. How did that riderless bike just keep going?

3. What was the guy that got hit with the riderless bike doing when he got hit?

Just plain weird.

1 probably  a wheelie guy that fell off.

2 the power of gyroscope stabilization. In gear maybe a throttle lock. Grinding on the k rail

3 sitting on the shoulder

I just dropped off my seats to get recovered.

Lesson learned - DO NOT store a motorcycle under a water-proof cover for extended periods of time in hot and humid environments.  Totally destroyed my seats.  (I don't have a garage or carport.)

@Chief Rick  was it a vented cover that was pulled tight so it formed an airgap between the cover and seat?  We have a problem with animals making a nest out of the seat foam.

Dowco Guardian - animals weren't the problem.  It traps heat and moisture under/inside just as well as it keeps water out (or even better).

That would be cool to ride but a bear to maintain.

I'd look for a new cover with more vents.  Mine vented here on both sides and never had a deterioration or mildew problem.  There are newer covers that use sections of breathable fabric similar to Frogg Toggs that might be worth a look.  Would hate to see it happen to you again.

My experience was that even breathable cover don't work well in a garage over time. Still had moisture issues after removing after a year under cover. Presuming the lack of air flow in a garage that's closed most of time, but heated to mid 40s during the winter. Best to uncover for a day or two periodically if in long time storage.

Yeah, guys that never left pre-school don’t impress me. Look at that guy! I’ll bet he had an exact outfit like that when he was 4 years old.

I ride on some roads that really aren’t roads any longer but are still hard packed enough to be road like. Loose gravel on loose pavement. But, most of my riding is on pavement, so I didn’t want real aggressive tires.

If you ride in the rain check out Michelin Road 5’s. Darn good wet and dry traction. I like them better than Dunlap Road Smart tires.

The mutants are supposed to be good riding tires and I saw that the shinko 9's are woven with Kevlar fiber

The wild magoo was Danny Chandler.  He rode on the edge, fast and loose so he would wreck hard like Mr Magoo.  I’d like to see him race James Stewart in his prime.

‘82 or ‘83. In a 500cc race he had to go backwards on a hill to get going.  The hill had three step ups and he wasn’t the only rider to ride backwards direction down the hill.  He was the only one penalized for it.  He said it cost him the class championship that year.  So in protest he rode the 250cc across the finish line the right direction but sitting backwards.
