My brother and his wife just rescued these two beauties.   Damascus and Cypress.

What is your kin going to do when their spots disappear and their manes start growing in? B)

Well that's one way to deal with obnoxious neighbors!

Well, he does still live in Cali.  We'll see.

They are two and four.  I understand they are very sweet but still true to their Bengal heritage.  Very active.  I'll check in with him this week and see how things are going.

Oh, they are grown. With the spots and the stripes I figured they were liger kittens. Or would that be liger cubs?

I was curious one day and did a little research on crossbreeding lions and tigers. And I found something interesting.

The lioness has the gene to make the animal stop growing. Not the lion - the lioness.

While the male tiger has the "stop growing" gene.

If you cross a lioness with a tiger, you get a tigon. And since both the father and the mother have the "stop growing" gene, the offspring is generally a small cat. At least small when you think about the big jungle cats. The size of a leopard maybe.

But if you cross a tiger with a lion, neither the father nor the mother has the "stop growing" gene, and as a result the offspring gets pretty big - like bigger than either parent. The largest cat on record is a liger and he weighs over 900 pounds.

I think it was Heinlein that said that cats are extremely funny, but they have no sense of humor.

Those people laughing at their cats in the videos will be quite surprised one day to wake up with their throats bitten out because they pissed their cats off.

"How dare this measly human laugh at me!!!!"

That would require me getting a clean fork.

Because that cat would have gotten stabbed in the ass.

Actually, I would have stabbed him for getting on the table, let alone putting his tail in my food.

The picture I posted of the cat eating corn on the cob and the two guys with the movie cameras, reminded me of this.
