These 2 guys showed up this morning. Either they ran away or somebody dumped them. No collars and no chips from what I could tell. Very friendly, check out the blue eyes on the white one.

Well, they look really friendly to me.  They also look pretty skinny.  Husky's are a handful but they are really loyal.  Best wishes to you.  Please let us know what you decide to do.

P.S.  I would have another Husky in a heartbeat, if Uno would let me........

My wife fed them and we’ve set water out for them, which they really appreciate. Our cat isn’t to happy, she went and hid somewhere.

Siblings probably. Probably dumped.

Good looking dogs, probably smart as all get out too.

Good luck...I mean that sincerely.

Animal control can scan for chips. They will take the dogs to the shelter. About any vet can scan too. No good way to tell if they are chipped without a scanner.

I have always felt that people that throw away pets should be thrown away themselves at some point.

If I lived nearby and my dog Maddie was okay with it I would take those dogs.

My neighbor had huskies for years. Beautiful, friendly, smart, loyal as all get out and famous for taking a walk all by themselves! Didn't matter what kind of fence he built they could get out and go cruising. Fortunately most everybody knew them and they would be promptly returned but always worried me that they would get hit by cars or taken by "well meaning" strangers.

Only drawback I ever heard about them was they shed constantly so not so great for those bothered by a little hair on the couch or as a food additive! :D

We rescued a WGSD that was dumped in a field outside of Houston. Great dog and we just can't understand why anyone would have dumped her. We have had her for 4 years and she is smart and loyal. She is my wife's shadow. Follows her everywhere she goes. I would love to meet the jerk that dumped her.

A lot of younger people don't put collars on their dogs, and some breeds are notable escape artists.  If they are as you describe them, I doubt they were dumped.  I'd get the vet to scan them and put the word out through the PD and Sheriff's Depts as well as the ASPCA.

Those dogs are perfectly healthy and look to be groomed. It doesn't take long for them to mat up with shed hair. They put off an incredible amount, as stated above. And I mean a BUNCH of hair, even brushed every day. I'd have them in a heartbeat though. It's just something to deal with. Narrows down visitors too. Especially women dressed in black. LOL

If a woman is dressed in black around my house it means I am dead and I do not care if she gets some dog hair on her.

DO NOT TAKE THOSE DOGS TO ANIMAL CONTROL TO BE SCANNED!  Some animal  controls have been known to hold found dogs for euthanization despite the desire of the finder. There was a thread about this a few weeks ago.

Note: I suggested a vet!

I'm used to no-kill shelters. Unless it's a problem animal.

Strangely a kid came by a little bit ago and left with the white one but left the other one here. I tried to talk to him but he got into the car and left, no explanation.

Well, that seems pretty odd.

Yes it does. I saw the kid earlier walking along the road and then he shows up with a car and takes one of the dogs.

That is weird.  Did he talk to you before he took the dog?

Not a word. I was in the shop and didn’t notice him loading the dog up and by the time I did he was getting in the car and drove off.

A nice young lady and her mother showed up looking for the 2 dogs this morning. We had the one but not the other. My wife called a few neighbors and found out where the white one was so the young lady loaded up Layla, the dog and they left to pick up the other one. Seems the white one got away from whoever picked it up yesterday and showed up at a neighbors house this morning. The young lady told me that they were having some landscaping done and a gate got left open and the dogs got out. I got her number to call her if they ever get out again. Turns out I know her Dad, he’s a gunsmith at a local gunshop.

Strange story.  From your description it sounds like the first dog was dog-napped and then escaped.

My thought as well.

In the old days, you could go and find the dog-napper and beat him with a baseball bat, or whatever you had in hand, and you would be a hero in your community.  Unfortunately, now you would be in prison.

Just glad everything eventually worked out great for the dogs and their owner.

I just couldn’t bring myself to take her to the pound. She is really a sweet dog and I knew eventually someone would come looking for her and I’m glad we waited. Over the last 32 years we’ve had a lot of animals left here during the night from puppies to litters of kittens to pregnant potbellied pigs, etc.. and we weren’t sure if this was the case with these 2 dogs.
