Griff
A New to Me Cap Gun... 2nd Gen Colt 1851, LNIB, in box with paperwork. Soon to be reworked with nearly unbreakable hand spring, SlixShot nipples, Manhattan Conversion & Wire Bolt/Trigger spring for all day shooting fun! Now all I need is that 1860 Steel Framed Carbine modified to shoot C45S, lose about 75 lbs so I can fit in my buckskins and I'll be the consummate Frontiersman! (I believe losing the weight will be the hard part!!!) If you don't shoot good, then LOOK GOOD doin' it!

Maybe I'm just stuck on 1851s! 25 minutes ago, Colorado Coffinmaker said: Hey Hey Hey Griff!! That there be a FINE example of a Square Back. Hubba Hubba. I've been shooting an 1851 since 1986 and never once thought anything about barrel/arbor "fit"... and have never had a problem. I have one with a loose arbor, and will be fixing that as I set up the others I have as match guns... But, have to admit the "short arbor" as an issue escapes me; something that just seem to be of no real consequence, IMO. The other five I have are as tight as the day I bought them. The 4 I have set up as match guns will run for a 3-day, 12 stage match without any attention at all.
Tequila Shooter
@Griff my 1860 is a Henry (Uberti) rifle, steel sided, short stroked, in .45c, not a pistol.

Probably looks a lot like this one: Mine sometimes has a C45S carrier (pictured) in it... for 19 in the tube with a 160RFN... What I'm waiting on is this same model in a carbine length. Goody, SASS #26190
I am under the impression that a Frontiersman has to shoot a SASS legal rifle, lever or pump action. By the way, love the square back. Somewhere around here I have a '61 square back, my favorite look of all.

I just want the carbine version, for a bit more "handiness".
Goody, SASS #26190
I somehow got the idea that you were talking about a '60 Army with a conversion cylinder.
