Alpo
I don't care about the value. I'm just curious whether it's real. Seems like everybody that responded thinks it's absolutely real and extremely valuable. Just something about it says fake to me. http://smith-wessonforum.com/firearms-knives-other-brands/705426-colt-6-gun-what.html

Three Foot Johnson
I was "permanently banned" from the S&W forum about twenty years ago, and I don't even remember what for.
Subdeacon Joe
LOL! I don't remember my username and log in! Must be 10 years since I was last on that forum. Can't create a new one because I can't remember my old one to delete my account/profile/whatever. Can you copy and paste the photos?

It looks too short, the flutes are too short, and the end of the cylinder is not beveled.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
The whole gun looks distorted. Could be as simple that he used a wide angle lens and it distorted the guns features. Could be a Spanish copy. Who knows.
Alpo
That bottom picture looks distorted for sure, but the one two above it looks pretty straight to me. And the gun still looks wrong.
watab kid
interesting enough i read that last entry and i also have an earlier model in 38wcf that was converted to 22cal , barrel lined and cylinders lined , my LGS said it looks done by colt back in the 20s ....apparently they did some of that ? anyway , its one i really enjoy owning - it was not shortened but front sight was replaced with a newer version sometime in the 70s it appears
Pat Riot
This is a photo of a Colt made in 1875. Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
It DON'T seem right to me . marking wise the "mods" ruin the value think I will pass on it CB
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
Three things make me question it's authenticity, but I'm far from an expert. (1) The dovetail sight. Could have been done by a gunsmith, but I don't know. (2) The 3 line patent. The photo that Pat has shows a 2 line patent, and I seem to remember that being an issue on Not Colt guns. (3) A first gen Colt would have a Bullseye Ejector Rod, would it not? Unless it too was added later.
