For you fella's that have CZ Huglu SxS that came with the choke kit, what chokes do you use?

For SASS, the most open choke you have.

Never owned a shotgun with removeable chokes before.

The thinnest are the widest pattern yes?

Leaving the chokes out will stuff up the threads yes?

Put a dab of copper anti-seize on the choke threads.

Yep, have those exact markings.

Most chokes in SASS are somewhere between cylinder and modified. Try some different ones and see what works best for you. Oh, and do not fire the gun with no choke tube installed.

CZ had a skeet choke for my 20 ga SXS. Remember while the demo shows the shot going out as a cone that is not really correct. The shot tends to stay as a group but spreads at varying distances depending on the choke. Most SASS shotgun targets are so close the choke is irrelevant.

 The only time I've seen folks tighten up their chokes is for some kind of side match where they needed to close the pattern in order to destroy something.

We had a team shoot in Richmond CA once upon a time where you had to cut a 2x4 in half with pistols, a 4x4 in half with rifles and then a sideways 4x8 sheet of plywood with SGs; what a hoot! Thanks Buffy.   I'd say stick with cylinder or improved cylinder chokes for CAS.

I use improved cylinder chokes in all my SxS shotguns.

 Improved cylinder in the left barrel and cylinder in the right barrel.   If I'm at a match where the shotgun knock downs are being stubborn I might change it to Improved Mod in the left barrel and Mod in the right barrel.

 

I have a number of antique shotguns and with them the left barrel is always choked tighter than the right, so I find it easier to do the same with my SxS's that have interchangeable chokes.  For cowboy shooting it doesn't really matter, but for some skeet, 5 stand or sporting clays I need to use one barrel with a tighter choke for certain shots.
