Hoss Posted July 9 Share Posted July 9 Shot my first match ever 12 years ago, 2nd Saturday in July at the Texas Riviera Pistoleros. Little did I know how much I would enjoy the game and especially the people. I’ve made friends whom I trust completely. I’ve told my wife that if something happened to me she could trust my cowboy Pards to be honest in dispersing my guns /equipment. when I started I told my wife “some of thes guys shoot every weekend, but I’ll just shoot once a month”. Now I shoot on average 3X/month! More than once 2 different matches on the same weekend! did I mention it was HOT at the range today? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We can shoot here at least 3xs a month, but somehow, other things come up, so 2xs a month is more like it. I have met lots of folks over the years, and hope to meet more. So now I just play with myself ! No wait that did not sound right lol . I just shoot my cowboy guns at home on my property and enjoy them and come here and still fell like one of the boys . LOL I just did my 5 year anniversary in Feb of this year, but that being said I am also an old fart that just got started in this game too late in life. I wish I had known about it 20 or 30 years ago. Ole well, at 73 I hope I still have a number of years to go before I have to hang the guns up. I do enjoy the shooting and getting with friends, including Hoss, Abilene and Itchy Trigger. I try to shoot at least twice a month and my wife is very accommodating with that. She runs half marathons while I shoot so it works out well. Here in Texas you are able to shoot every weekend and like Hoss said you can even shoot at multiple matches on some weekends. My wife already knows to get with a couple of my local pards to help dispense with my guns and reloading equipment if something ever happens to me. She knows she can trust them to do what is right and get a fair deal and not sell them for what I told her I paid for them.
