Mack Hacker, #60477 Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Both of my shop vibratory cleaners have given up. While cruising Harbor Freight yesterday I noticed similar cleaners marketed for parts cleaners. Are these any different than case cleaners, except for the media used?
Choctaw Jack Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Save the money (and aggravation) and buy a purpose built unit . Lyman , RCBS, Frankford Arsenal, etc. Or ( I think) better yet, buy a wet tumbler . IMHO you won't be sorry. Choctaw
Dilli GaHoot Galoot Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Harbor Freight is where you buy tools that you aren't 100% positive you really want to own I shop there all the time
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 wet tumbling is my go-to method having said that there is a $$ factor to consider as well as additional time for depriming, tumbling, and drying given this ▲, it is still worth it to me when I see how clean and shiny the cases come out

Springfield Slim SASS #24733 Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 I work at Harbor Freight part-time, and their tumblers seem to be of decent quality. I have sold a few in the last 6 months and haven't had one come back yet. Can't say the same for their cheaper weed whackers, though! You get what you pay for. I currently use my wet tumbler for pre-cleaning my BP fired brass and finish off in a dry Lyman tumbler to get them extra shiny plus coat them with car polish/wax. FWIW I have worn out 2 Lyman tumblers in the last 22 years, loading for 2-4 shooters shooting 1-2 times a month. Nothing lasts forever.
Preacherman Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 I've been using the large Dillon tumbler that I bought used, say 21 years ago, and it's still going. Lots of use with our very steady cowboy shooting all those years! Like Slim said .You get what you pay for."
