Hawg Runner, SASS #61139 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Found a hardly used TTN, I know the cowboy, asking 550 for it. Fair price? Thanks, Hawg.
Old Man Graybeard Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Very good price anymore. I paid a little less for mine...but it was a steal
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Hopefully the gun hasn't been too badly butchered to make it "Cowboy." A TTN doesn't need anything beyond a lighter lever spring and perhaps "switch trigger." Don't let anybody "funnel" the chambers.
Warden Callaway Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Inspect the barrels closely. Passing visual inspection, do a "ring" test. Suspended the barrels and tap them with something hard. They should ring like a bell. Go up and down both barrels. A dull thud or rattle indicates they have a loose rib. Seems parts are becoming hard to find.
Three Foot Johnson Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 A good price in todays Brave New World. A dozen years ago or so, before the world went crazy, I bought two of them a few months apart from Sportsman's Warehouse (gotta have a backup, doncha know) for $389.99 and $399.99.
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 May well be a good LONG while before we see TTNs again. I still call 'em TTSs as I don't remember the name of the actual manufacturer in China.

Silver Creek Jack Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Yep better buy it if it’s in good shape and you are wanting one, I have 2 fully cowboyed up and they are great shotguns! SCJ
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Just make sure the razor sharp spurs on top the hammers have been ground to dull so you don’t slit your thumbs open and bleed all over the shotgun.

I never removed the spurs on mine, but I cock the hammers one at a time, rather than sweep across them.
Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 My spurs are not removed just no longer razor sharp. I cock both hammers at the same time with my right thumb. That is when I used to shoot it before switching to my 1887.
