I've got a fair amount of good storied under my belt. My friend and I wrote a book based on them, (Bucksnort, if you're interested). However, about the time I turned 40, my first wife of 10 years died, one of my dogs died, and my dad died, all within a 5 month period. Not long after that, I bought a motorcycle, just because I could. My friend said,

"Man, when you throw a midlife crisis, you REALLY throw a midlife crisis!"
