I cringe when newbies on gun forums call a shotgun a “shottie”. I knew a firearms instructor that did things like this. “What ever you do never aim a gun like this at people.” Crowd ducks… Well, I didn’t know him. I had him for one class. Shottie is and always has been pretty ubiquitous for a shotgun down here.......we're very fond of shortening words and putting an ie or an ey on the end. In the first one he offered to let someone hold the gun, but then snatched it back and told him he couldn't because he didn't have a license. Then just a little bit later he gives a gun to a bunch of kids. So which is it? Got to have a license to touch a gun? Or all you got to have is an imbecile?
