This picture tickles me. Not only does the briefcase contain a machine gun, but apparently it is made up of Kevlar panels. It looks like three or four bodyguards have unfolded their briefcases to completely enclose the guy they're protecting, while the other guy is shooting at the attackers.

1.) Received pronunciation.

2.) Person doesn't read anything.

3.) Intentional to draw attention.

Probably number three.

Years back when I was still doing route sales I walked into one of my convenience stores one day and there was a shopping cart full of something - this is back in the early eighties and I don't recall what it was - and it had a fine on the cart.

It actually had a SIGN on the cart. It needed one that said "otto is an ass", but what it really said was:

ON SAIL

I told the guy behind the counter that his sign was spelled wrong. He said he was aware of that. When it was spelled correctly nobody bought anything. But everybody that comes in sees that misspelled sign, and most say something about it, and many take something out of the cart and buy it.

Newly married in 1965, moved to Aberdeen, Maryland for an Army school at A.P.G., no on-base housing available, rented a top floor of a really trashy and terrible 2 story apartment built for government housing in 1942 and never upgraded or even marginally maintained...and less that 20 yards from the PRR main line (much further than these poor folks were from the tracks).

Big GG-1 electric locomotives hauling passenger trains six times a day...three north and three south... at about 80 mph..plus a few dozen very long freight trains up and back.

I think my new wife had gotten pregnant almost as soon as she said "I do" and was having "morning sickness" several times a day.

That lasted exactly 30 days and I got a message saying my wife was at the PX and could I pick her up on the way home.  Strange, but I drove over and she grinned and said "I moved us to Havre de Grace this morning.  She recruited two other wives and they all tree moved up to HdG and rented much nicer places in the same apartment.  They were $15.00  a month more, but much more tolerable.

Bonus: the trains didn't come near the place and we were right on the  road going to A.P.G. just six miles away AND we could hear the lighthouse horns in the distance and that was positively soothing.
