Alpo Posted October 23 Share Posted October 23 People that have never been there - they laugh about it but they really don't understand. If you are the oldest child, you get to do anything. Because the parents don't know any better. My brother got to do all kinds of stuff, and he took advantage, and because he took advantage I didn't get to do it. If you are the youngest child, you are the baby and therefore you get to do anything. But if you are the middle child. The older child has screwed you from getting to do fun stuff and you don't get to get away with it like the baby will. Being a middle child truly truly sucks. Not to turn this thread into a discussion on siblings and raising children, but I do believe your opinion on the first born or eldest children is not typical and outside the norm. Nearly everyone I know that was the oldest or first born was held to higher standards and made to have more responsibilities than their younger siblings. If you got a costume that is basically blue long underwear with red jockey shorts on top of it and a red cape, you should not have to have the word Superman on the costume for people to know who you are. I'm not talking about his logo or his insignia. There's a Batman costume up there, but it says Batman on it. There's a costume with an obvious Gumby mask and it says Gumby. All over it. Gave it to my helper at the time, he said out loud "Oh God NO!!" I told him to just put it up, let's see how it looks. He calls me a few hours later and tells me I have to come see it, he is somewhat cryptic... We agreed it looked good.
