That has to be a late model vehicle. They don't leave a millimeter extra wire these day for clamp replacement if one needs to.

Many many years back, when I was working construction, me and this other guy were the last ones to leave the job site. And my battery was dead. Jumping it off would not have been a problem, if either one of us had a set of cables.

Went back to the tool trailer to see what there might be available. There was a set of welding leads. It might have worked if there were four of us - him giving his car the gas, me trying to start my car, guy number three holding the two cables to my battery and got number four holding the two cables to his battery. Unfortunately there were only two of us.

I've wondered about you those welding cables many times since then. Wondered if it would have worked.

On my 02 F250, 2 heavy positive cables are molded right into the terminal with zero slack and 2 more small wires are on a binding post with all kinds of slack!

It’s a Ford!…

My Chevy has those danged side posts with the little hex head. I hate those things. You’re never quite sure how good your contact is and they’re a b**** to attach jumper cables to.

In WV I have several a few “No trespassing. Violators will be shot” signs on back roads. I felt stopping and taking a photo might be unwise.

I do remember where they are though.

Naw, they are fogging it with DDT to kill the termites. Can't let them eat this historic British tourist trap. :P

i made a set of jumper cables from welder leads, best cables ever, long enough I can pull up behind most cars and still jump them. With that heavy wire I've never had a car that wouldn't start, no mater how big the motor or dead the battery. Of course you still need 4 men, just to carry them from the trunk to the front of the car.

Unless you're old like me, then you need 6 men and a boy.

The more strands of wire in the wire means that it conducts electricity more efficiently. More strands = higher ampacity ratings regardless of the size of the wire (AWG).

I wonder if she's British? Way back when I was of an age to wear tie-dye, and flash a peace sign, the fingers were turned outward.

The only time I've seen the fingers turned inward is the British equivalent of a bird.

Amazon is having a rough night.  I found both of these on the same page.

Looks like a Pennsylvania license plate. I’ll bet this knucklehead loves to stay in the fast lane (left lane) and go 5mph under the speed limit.
