LOTTSA Rudder trim on.

It also goes to show you could likely make a brick fly with enough engine!!

Hell, we proved that with the F-4 Phantom a long time ago.

The F15 actually generates roughly 25% of it's lift in the fuselage, so yeah, they have flown after losing a wing!

Does anyone know if this is real? It looks fake and photoshopped.

There are a lot of supporting internet links that say this happened

Hey, let's not go bad-mouthing the F-4! That airplane flew with brute strength and awkwardness, but extremely fast. Brought my ass home several times.

That would be the F4 Phantom, aka the flying brick  . They can not glide they lose 1 foot elevation for every 1 foot forward with out engines .

I think the F-105 had a similar glide ratio.  Thus the name "Thud".

Whereas the F104 Starfighter would just be a lawn dart!

We used to call the F-16 that as well, it seems the power would cut out about the

time it went wheels up and had to have the nav gyro's re-initialized.

That was the earlier 704 power std, when they switched to 704d it stabilized, iirc.
