Fiocchi USA has been around for a while.  They just recently purchased land in Little Rock, Arkansas to build a primer manufacturing plant.

I’ve bought their 9mm ammo and it’s great!

Been using Fiocchi since the primer panic of late 1994.

Herters is another uncommon brand that works well.

+1   I even have a few hundred Alcan LR primers from back in the 60's that I picked up at an estate sale about 15 years ago. Every one I have loaded went bang.

Fiocchi is first rate ammo so I would suspect their components are the same . When I used to shoot sporting clays I shot allot of their target ammo and liked it as well as Remington greens or AA . And to this day I’ve never found a better load for pheasant than their golden pheasant load . Many of their hunting loads and buck shot use nickel plated shot, they almost always were one of the best patterning loads in my guns

I purchased a few thousand Fiocchi shot shell primers recently. So far I’ve loaded maybe a dozen rounds with them and already had two ftf.

Pistol and rifle primers may be fine, but I don’t have confidence in these for reloading shotgun ammo.

Bill did you get the 616 or the 209 primers from Fiocchi? I ran through 5000 Noble primers with only 1 FTF and now I am loading Cheddites no issues with those that I have seen. I'd trade you 100 cheddites just so I could try the fiocchi at our next match if you want to try those.

I don’t know. It’s just says Bulk Fiocchi primers on the box.

I’m happy to swap with you. I’ll bring them to our next match together, which is probably Ocoee.

Just got back from my daily trip to Sportsman's.  If you are looking for 9mm or .223 the stores are awash with them.  Hopefully some of the other calibers will start showing up in greater quantity.  9mm is starting to go down.  $14.99 a box is not bad.

Oh by the way those are the 616-209 version and they are a hotter primer than the 615-209 version Brass color versus steel color and the 617-209 isn't available in the US that I am aware of. The 616-209 version produce more pressures hmmm wondering why they would be a issue for you.

After seeing Rye's post I found the Fiochi primers at Sportsman's Warehouse.  With the veteran's discount they were around $8.25 per box of 150 with a limit of two boxes per visit.  So that is $16.50 per 300 or $55.00 per thousand.  Not bad in this day and age.  Loaded up a couple of hundred and shot them in yesterday's match.  They all went bang and my guns all have lightened springs.  The only problem is the Dillon primer tubes only hold 100 primers so I had to throw away 50 out of each box.

Hey man I finally got around to testing those shotgun primers. I know I still owe you the 100 cheddite primers they are in the truck for when I see you again.

my testing results for those primers in my Fast Eddie SKBs are at best 50% fire rate. Seriously every other one went off at Oak Ridge this past Saturday. So I started giving shells to other people to test fire and anyone who uses a 97 these are good to go. I wound up giving the rest of them to Cross Creek Stitcher and she loved them mainly because they are my 940 fps loads so almost no recoil in her 97 but she shot the rest of the match using them but for Fast Eddie SKB's no go. I had the same results in all 4 of my SKB's. I did notice Stoeger shotguns didn't seem to have any issue. Stitcher said her and Fretless might be interested in what you have left of them. They shoot 97's didn't test in her grandsons double barrel Fretless is supposed to test that himself.

Thanks thought you might want to know the results.

I recently discovered that my CZ Sharptail tuned by Longhunters does not set off Fiocchi 616 shotgun primers reliably.  However, my Stoegers ignite them easily so I will use my small supply in Stoegers.  I'll be using Cheddites in the future since they are readily available and work in all my shotguns.

That sucks….I unplugged two spark plug wires from my 400 hp v8 once I discovered I could not fully use all 400 hp

I have maybe half a dozen Federals left in the reloader and then I'll be switching to Cheddites for the foreseeable future.  Hopefully they'll function as well for me as for others.

I have about 5000 sellier bellot SPP and had good results. If you, and I’m only extending this offer to you ( and my pal Talon) would like to swap a box of Cheddites for Sellier to try out, let me know.image.png.4f9ea0dd46e094b04c6bb73c87d1765e.png

I could take a really good family vacation, and there’s 7 of us, if I sold my Federal primers.
