TJ Casino SASS#13722
For Sale: 1866 Uberti Sporting rifle 20" barrel in 38 Special TJ Casino SASS#13722 posted a topic in SASS Wire Classifieds This rifle was worked on by Don Jones and has a short stroke action job called a Codymatic. It also has a stainless mainspring and .38 caliber mag tube. This was my daily shooter so it has some cart digs on the wood. It is a great shooter that has won long range contests. Asking $1250 plus shipping and FFL fees. TJ Casino
JimSprouse
Would you consider a trade for a new- in-the-box Henry Big Boy .44 mag with some boot? Would you take less on a cash sale with the money wired to your account today? Henrys are in big demand right now and very hard to find. I received this one from my son who won it at a sporting clays match. I prefer .38 because that is the caliber of my revolvers. Thanks for your consideration. TJ Casino SASS#13722
I am not interested in a trade as I am trying to thin my herd. Make me a offer on the rifle. TJCasino
Texas Snake-Eye Sawbones
TJ, I tried to send a PM, but it wouldn't go through, so I will ask some questions here: How old is this rifle? Are you the original owner? Why are you selling? Thanks, Snake-Eye
TJ Casino SASS#13722
To Snake: I bought this rifle around 2004. I have four match rifles so I just don't need it anymore. I have not shot a match since 2019 so I am trying to thin the herd. TJ Casino
JimSprouse
I'm interested. I am new to the hobby so I don't know much about the firearms yet. I will get back to you one way or the other. Deputy Dan Callahan
TJ Casino SASS#13722
Answer to Jim Sprouse: This rifle was tuned and short stroked by Don Jones of Berkley Springs, Wv. His action jobs are know as Codymatics. He also installed a stainless main spring. The action job cost me $350 plus shipping.
JimSprouse
jThanks for that. I have looked at so many guns that I forgot that you wrote that in your initial description. That is very good that it has had such excellent tuning. I really feel that this is the rifle for me but I am still trying to sort out what to buy first. A lot depends on which guns I can borrow for the time being from other club members. I will find that out tomorrow at our monthly match. Thanks for your patience. WOLFY
Jim the easiest guns to loan are shotguns over rifles. However with so many folks bringing spares I wouldn’t rule anything out. PS Codymatics are amazing

Not the best but will do for now. One of the members is going to lend me a shotgun. So, I have a Henry rifle that I was going to use but it's a .44! 100 rounds of practice two days last week= $95! Gotta get a .38. Don't know if I will be able to reload because I have a significant tremor. I plan to go "help" a friend the next time he reloads. 2 hours ago, TJ Casino SASS#13722 said: Jim Sprouse I never received your message and I checked my spam folder. My email is tjbick@gmail.com.
