BPCR Ammo Storage

I’d like to see what the consensus is for storing BPCR ammo.  I’m loading 45-70 with BP a Walter’s Wad and a lubed bullet.  Is it better to keep them in an ammo box bullet up or down?

I keep mine bullet down. Never had an issue.

Aye, plastic box with bullet down, but I have one box that will let them sit bullet up, and they've been fine also, even after sitting for a year or more.

Howdy Tequila,

 

Apparently up or down doesn't matter. However, you could always store your shells in what ever box you have and then pace the box upside down orient the bullet up.

It does matter, especially in hot climates.

45-70, Fire forming case, no resizing. Bullet on top, especially if I’m going to use them in about two weeks.

 

38-50 Hepburn, resized. Bullet down.
