Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
Findlay Creek, across the road from me, is up nearly to the top of the bank and starting to creep into the South Nation Wetlands on the south side. If we get a slow melt, days a bit above freezing and nights below freezing we should have a good runoff, no flooding and a really good Maple Syrup run. I hope to get a call to help out on the boiler at a chums in Lanark. He pays off in Maple Syrup! The Rideau River, that runs through Ottawa is flowing well, following blasting operations, to clear the ice. Always a sure sign of Spring around here. Next comes The Tulip Festival!! A real spectacle!
