This 1986 Smith & Wesson Model 544 chambered in 44-40 is a Texas Sesquicentennial 150 Year Wagon Train Commemorative revolver and comes with a Basswood Barn Board Finish Commemorative Box. THE Model 544 TEXAS COMMEMORATIVE WAS THE FIRST TIME S&W BROUGHT BACK PRODUCTION OF A FIREARM IN THE .44-40 WINCHESTER CALIBER SINCE 1913 WHEN S&W STOPPED PRODUCTION OF THE .44 DOUBLE ACTION FRONTIER. This revolver is a 6 shot N-Frame with Smooth Goncalo Grips with the Smith & Wesson medallion. The front sight has the red Smith & Wesson ramp and the rear sight is windage and elevation adjustable. This revolver has a 5" straight barrel marked "1836 Texas 1986". The side plate is stamped with a circle, Texas State Outline and the Texas Wagon Train Logo, all gold filled. This is one of a limited Edition Run of only 4,782. The serial number of this gun is: TXT 0957.
