The Tonic Kid, SASS #70340
Hi Everyone I have an odd Switch Blade in my possession that I can’t identify who it is made by. There are no makers marks anywhere on the knife. The handle appears to be Buffalo Horn. The knife was given to me by an elderly man. He said the knife was made in the 40’s. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks Tonic
PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L
Can't help regarding the maker, but I have a "Turkey Hunter" folder with a similar guard. It was made to pull stuck hulls from a shotgun.
Rip Snorter
Best guess, Italian. Does the guard actually fit any standard shotgun shell?
The Tonic Kid, SASS #70340
I'll check and see if it will pull shotgun shells. Thanks for the help.

Been a knife guy longer than a gun guy, still, just a guess. Good quality and unmarked is always interesting.

Actually I acquired a couple fine knives that were ordered "Sterile" from a noted knife maker. Needs of the Service, apparently.

Alpo
I sent a link to this thread to a fellow I know that makes and works on switchblades. His response. Made in Sardinia, probably by Tonerini. Here's one he made for a high-ranking government official-possibly Mussolini. It came through my shop for a broken spring.
Utah Bob #35998
I’ll check for ya. I know some switchblade collectors. It does look Italian to me but could also be Spanish.
Utah Bob #35998
Here are the responses I’ve gotten from the Old Switchblade Knives Facebook page.. I’m going through some old Kindle books I have also. It could be a Tonerini but three lack of markings could mean it’s a copy. What’s the length? And are the bolsters brass or nickel? The Tonic Kid, SASS #70340
The liner does appear to be steel. There are zero markings on the knife anywhere. The shell puller at the hilt, if that is what it is, will not fit a 12 gauge, so I'm going to assume it is for a 16 or 20 gauge. The knife has been polished.
