Charlie Harley, #14153
Stuff you just can’t make up. 1 minute ago, J-BAR #18287 said: Any worries about mudslides and avalanches in the near future? Most definitely! A freakish amount of water flowing into a river system that is not prepared to handle it. Floods and mudslides will abound as it warms, especially if it happens quickly. They’re predicting 2 plus inches of rain where I live over the next 24 hours and since it’s a warm storm the Palomar mountain area that got record snowfall a couple of weeks ago is going to get the heavy rain also. Going to be lots of water coming off of the mountain so mudslides are a real possibility. Run off up north is going to be very high, according to our water district manager the Sierras get most of their moisture over the next month or so. Sedalia Dave
I would be just as worried about roofs collapsing. Rain on top of snow gets really heavy real fast.
